This morning, before we left Gillette, a reporter came to interview several of the riders. I was interviewed, but (darn) I didn't make the cut. Anyway, if you want to see the article, I'm going to make you work. Google the Gillette News Record, and search "Big Ride."
Two days ago, when we went from Hardin to Sheridan, one of the riders (Cliff) had a run-in with a truck. This is what is left of his bike:
Amazingly, other than a few scrapes, Cliff is fine! That's him on the right. Daniel is on the left. He took yesterday off, but today he got back on a bike (Daniel's) and rode. We're all so glad that's he healthy and back with us on the ride!
Back to today's ride: It was similar to yesterday's ride, BUT it was about 40 miles shorter and there were less hills. It was still hot, though, and just in case you've forgotten, I HATE hot weather. (Yes, the weather's affecting me. It's causing this blog to be dull and uninteresting.)
Much of the ride today included treeless rolling hills and long, hot highways. That's Tracy getting back on the road.
We took a quick break to visit Old Town Upton, Wyoming. That's me, Janet, and Tracy.
Tracy and Reuben (from Minneapolis) in front of the sod house.
Some riders (Janet, Patty H., and Tracy) posing in front of the House of Ill Repute. Where are the customers?
Lunch in Upton was at Polly's Pub & Grub.
Lunch customers Pauline and Ash are in the back, and Janet, Patty H., Kevin from Indiana, and Tracy are at the table.
Around Upton there were trees again! Trees make me think of cool, home-like weather. I need to change my thinking . . .
The trees are disappearing again.
Newcastle is our stop for tonight. We're staying in a great place! They took an old elementary school, and converted it to a senior center. There are cozy rooms all around the building, and all of us agree that we could be happy here for quite awhile. But, that's not to be. We're heading to South Dakota tomorrow.

You are a tree snob!!! :)
j/k
I see you like some things hot and others no so. Good to know.
Just as long as you can still smile about it all. Glad to hear Cliff is OK too.
Later!
Your blogs are still as interesting even if your ride wasn't. I love looking at the pics.
Keep safe out there.
Love,

That's a scary story about the close encounter with a truck -- yikes! I'm glad he's okay... Be careful out there, we want you back in one piece!
We are heading to your Manzanita place this evening, looking forward to it, the weather's beautiful.
take care,
love,
